Floatel Superior

Floatel Superior is a semi-submersible accommodation and construction support unit designed for worldwide operation with emphasis on some of the harshest environmental conditions in the world, such as the Northern North Sea.

The unit is designed and approved for operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, thus meeting the world's most demanding regulatory requirements for offshore operations and is equipped with the latest Kongsberg Dynamic Positioning System for station keeping, certified to DP3 class. Floatel Superior accommodates 440 people in single bed cabins and has large recreational areas, including mess room and various types of day rooms, gymnasium, sauna and cinema. The unit has a telescopic gangway for client personnel to transfer between Floatel Superior and the host installation. A helideck, two deck cranes, a large lay-down area as well as workshops and warehouses support the client’s logistics, construction and storage activities.

Cabins

Air-conditioned living quarters for 440 people in single bed cabins, all with daylight. Each cabin fully outfitted with en-suite bathroom, telephone and IPTV with video on demand.

Mess Rooms and Recreational Facilities

Galley and mess room facilities for 220 people per sitting. Recreational areas include a shop, cinema, recreation rooms, games room, gymnasium and sauna. Dirty coffee shops for Client adjacent to the gangway staircase.

Client Offices

Client Office
35-45 workstations on the Main Deck level, arranged in open plan area.
Dirty Office
15-20 workstations, located on the Tween Deck adjacent to the main changing room.
Conference Rooms
2 rooms, one adjacent to Client Office and one on Lower Deck, equipped with communication facilities.

Hospital

A fully equipped hospital is located on 3rd Deck level with direct stretcher access to elevator and easy access to helideck. The hospital consists of three parts; a medical office, a clinic with examination and treatment facilities as well as a ward with two bed capacity.

Lifesaving

Lifeboats
8 * 63 pax free fall lifeboats.

Inflatable life rafts for all POB as per applicable regulations.
MOB boat
Davit launched self-righting boat, type Norsafe Mako 655.

Gangway

Hydraulic Gangway, length 38.0 m with a telescopic action of +/- 7.5 m allowing the unit to remain connected in severe weather.
Utilities over Gangway
Utility piping available for transfer of compressed air, sea water, diesel, fresh water and IT to the Client installation via the gangway.

Helicopter Deck

The helicopter deck with refuelling facilities complies with DNV HELDK notation and CAP 437 requirements:

Construction Support

Two electro-hydraulic deck cranes located port side forward and starboard side forward, each with the following onboard lifting capacities:
Main Hoist
50.0 MT lifting capacity at 36 m radius. 33.2 MT lifting capacity at 55 m radius.
Auxiliary Hoist
15.0 MT lifting capacity at 60 m radius.
Possible to re-wire the Main Hoist to reach up to 100 MT lifting capacity. Material handling crane with 5 MT lifting capacity.
A workshop for welding and mechanical work (80 m²) and a warehouse with shelving (65 m²) are arranged on the forward part of the Main Deck level, available for Client use.

Station Keeping

The positioning system is built and approved according to DNV (DP3) class notation DYNPOS(AUTRO) and mooring notation POSMOOR (ATA).
